West Indian cricketer Jason Holder has been ruled out of the event due to injury.

According to the International Cricket Council (ICC), the West Indies have announced their squad for the T20 World Cup. Left-arm fast bowler Obed McCoy has been included in the team instead of the experienced player Jason Holder.

The 32-year-old Jason Holder suffered an injury during the County Championship 2024 and needs time to recover, which will rule him out of the T20 World Cup.

Obed McCoy, who replaced Jason Holder in the squad, was the highest wicket-taker during West Indies’ recent tour of Nepal, taking eight wickets in five matches.

West Indies selector Desmond Haynes said, “Jason Holder will be missed during the event, but McCoy will be given an opportunity on the big stage.”

He Added:

“Jason Holder is an experienced player in our set-up. He will undoubtedly be missed both on and off the field, but we look forward to having a fully fit Jason again soon,”
