Amol Kale, 47, died of cardiac arrest in New York on Monday

When the India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup was on the tough pitch of New York, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) president Amol Kale also came to watch the match. Amol Kale suffered a heart attack in the middle of this match, due to which he died.

On Sunday, he watched the game against Pakistan at New York’s Nassau County Stadium along with MCA secretary Ajinkya Naik and official Suraj Samit. During his tenure, Amol Kale successfully hosted the World Cup 2023 matches at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, including the semi-final between India and New Zealand.

The Mumbai cricket team managed to win the Ranji Trophy tournament 2023-24 under Amol Kale as the president. Amol Kale is a big name in cricket in Mumbai. He was also on the core committee of the Street Premier League, and he planned to revive the Mumbai T20 League.

He was also in charge when the MCA took the critical decision that the Mumbai players would get a match fee equal to the match fee paid by the BCCI to its players. Sanke Naik is currently the vice president and will likely take charge of the Mumbai Cricket Association on an interim basis.
