About Darren Sammy

Darren Sammy was born on 20 December 1983. At the age of 15, Darren started taking interest in cricket. Before playing cricket for the West Indies, Sammy worked as an office assistant in the Ministry of Commerce. On 8 July 2004, Sammy got the chance to play his first match against New Zealand. In 2007 against England, Sammy made his Test debut and in his very first Test match, he gave away only 66 runs and guided seven English players to the pavilion. And then in 2010 Sammy also got the captaincy of the West Indian team. As soon as Sammy became the captain, the performance of the West Indian team started to improve. Sammy is the only captain in the world of cricket who has won T20 cricket World Cups twice as captain. He won the ICC T20 World Cup against Sri Lanka in 2012.
