ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Namibia defeated Oman by 11 runs

In the third match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, (Oman VS Namibia) was tied, after which the decision of Super Over took place.

Super over

  • Namibian All-rounder David Wiza and skipper Gerhard Erasmus came to bat in the Super Over, and Bilal Khan bowled for Oman.
  • Visa hit a four on first ball and then a six on the second, followed by two on the third ball and one run on the fourth.
  • Captain Erasmus hit two fours on the fifth and sixth balls and score 21 runs, while Oman got a target of 22 runs to win the super over.
  • Aqib Ilyas and Naseem Khushi came in to bat for Oman while David Wiza bowled for Namibia, Naseem Khushi got out for 2 runs and Zeeshan Maqsood came.
  • Aqib Ilyas scored 7 runs and Zeeshan scored one run, and so Oman managed to score only 10 runs in the Super Over.

First Innings

  • On the first ball of the innings, Oman’s opening batsman Keship Parjapati was left LBW by Trumpelmann, while Trumpelmann also showed the way to Oman’s captain Aqib Ilyas on the second ball of his first over.
  • Omani batsman, Khalid Keil scored 34 runs off 39 balls.
  • Zeeshan Maqsood scored 22 runs on 20 balls.
  • Ayan Khan scored 15 runs on 21 balls.
  • Omani batsman Kaleem Ullah scored 11 runs off 9 balls.
  • Bowling in the first innings, Namibia’s Trumpelmann managed to get 4 wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs, David Welle got 3, Gerhard 2 and Bernard Schulz got 1 wicket.

Second Innings

  • In the second innings against Oman, Namibia scored 109 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
  • In this match played in Bridgetown, Namibia’s playing XI included captain Gerhard Erasmus, Nicolas Dion, Michael van Langen, Jan Frylinck, Malan Kruger, wicketkeeper Zane Green, David Wiese, Ruben Trumpelmann and Bernard Schulz including Tangini Langemani.
  • Under the leadership of captain Aqib Ilyas, the Oman team includes Naseem Khushi, Zeeshan Maqsood, Khalid Kail, ayan Khan, Muhammad Nadeem, Mehran Khan, Shakeel Ahmed, Kaleemullah, Kashyap Prajapati and Bilal Khan.
